Welcome to First Baptist Christian School

We are a Christ-centered, academically focused Christian school serving families throughout Lafayette and the surrounding parishes. Partnering with parents, we equip students from PreK3 through 12th grade to reach their full potential—spiritually, academically, and personally.

Through Biblical integration across all subjects, dedicated faculty, and a commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, and student life, First Baptist Christian School prepares students to think critically, grow in their faith, and live with purpose. Our students are challenged to pursue excellence, lead with character, and make an impact for Christ in their communities and beyond.

Educating the Whole Child

At First Baptist Christian School, education goes beyond textbooks and test scores. While strong academics are essential, we intentionally invest in the spiritual, intellectual, social, and character development of every student. Our Christ-centered approach shapes how students think, learn, and live—integrating Biblical truth into every subject and experience.

Through rigorous academics, athletic opportunities, fine arts, service, and discipleship, students are encouraged to discover their God-given gifts and grow in confidence and responsibility. This intentional, whole-child approach prepares graduates not only for college and career success, but for lives of faith, leadership, and service—equipped with both strong skills and Christ-like character to impact the world around them.

Core Values of First Baptist Christian School

Christ-Centered Worldview

All instruction at First Baptist Christian School is grounded in Biblical truth. Through intentional Biblical integration across every subject, students are taught to view life, learning, and decision-making through the lens of Scripture, developing a faith that shapes both character and purpose.

Academic Excellence

As a Cognia accredited, BESE approved school, we are committed to challenging students academically and preparing them for future success. With strong curriculum standards, dedicated faculty, and proven academic outcomes—including above-average ACT scores and state-level academic achievements—students are equipped with the skills and confidence needed for college, career, and lifelong learning.

Discipleship & Spiritual Growth

Spiritual formation is woven into daily school life. Through Bible instruction, prayer, worship, and discipleship opportunities, students are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Christ, develop spiritual discipline, and live out their faith with conviction.

Character & Leadership Development

We intentionally cultivate Christ-like character in our students. By emphasizing integrity, responsibility, service, and humility, students learn how to lead with conviction and positively influence others through both their actions and their words.

Whole-Student Development

First Baptist Christian School educates the whole child—academically, spiritually, socially, and physically. Through academics, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular involvement, students are encouraged to discover their God-given gifts and grow into well-rounded individuals prepared for life beyond the classroom.

Family Partnership & Community

We believe education is most effective when schools and families work together. By partnering closely with parents and engaging students within a Christ-centered community, we support growth that extends beyond the classroom and into homes, churches, and the broader community.
During my time at First Baptist, the teachers encouraged me not only academically, but to pursue my walk with God, and they pushed me to pursue leadership positions which has carried over into my college career.
